The difference
After more than a decade of working with moms who want to get back into the gym or return to their sport, I've seen that way too many women are going years or even decades without experiencing relief to their movement- or exercise-related issues that are common after pregnancy.
The typical postpartum yoga class or women's fitness program may make some thoughtful adjustments to generic exercises you'd normally do, but they still often lack the degree of specificity required to make lasting, meaningful change.
Even when the routine is marketed as postpartum-specific, perhaps by incorporating kegels, there is no clear plan for progressing to more demanding activities in the long term, like strength training or running. Realistically for some, these kinds of activities can take 6-12 months to return to in a safe and effective manner. This is a problem when most group fitness classes are not operating on a progressive training plan and most online programs barely last 30-60 days.

This is where The Postpartum Performance Program comes in.

We throw out the typical model of what people think they should do and instead get hyper-specific about what we need to do to make quick and effective change. This means being extremely deliberate with our exercise selection and exercise progression in order to avoid the most common boundaries to progress for new moms, like:
-
back pain
-
pressure-related issues like incontinence, abdominal hernia, disc herniations, etc
-
joint pain in the wrists, knees, hips, shoulders, etc

What makes this program so unique – and arguably so valuable – is that the first 12-week phase of the program is specifically dedicated to addressing the most common compensatory strategies that are often layered over the pregnancy-related musculoskeletal changes. Without addressing these movement limitations first, progress will undoubtedly be limited.

By FIRSTLY restoring comfortable movement, developing body awareness, learning to coordinate movement and breath, and restoring adaptability to the pelvis and ribcage, we can then begin to safely dial up the intensity in Phase 2...and beyond.

The best part? You'll never again have to waste time worrying about what to do in the gym because the programming continues forever. This makes it simple and easy for you to keep progressing well into the future. It is not uncommon for Postpartum Performance clients to get into the best shape of their life by simply following the steady progression of the plan through the first 12-15 months. For some who felt they were at a low point before starting, this timeframe felt reasonable for achieving a new high point in their physical performance capabilities.

For those who want to safely get back to exercise after childbirth but aren't sure where to begin, I encourage you to sign up for a free trial. I am confident you will begin to feel the benefits before it ends. Whether you are 3 months, 3 years, or 3 decades postpartum, this program is for you.
